Syllabus-based learning games, Class 1 to 12

Most "educational" games are quizzes wearing a costume — the same answer-matching with a different skin. VidyaKavach games are built the other way around: the game mechanic is the concept. In the fractions game you physically slice shapes into equal parts; in the algebra game you balance a real beam scale by cancelling weights from both sides. A child who plays them is doing the maths, not being quizzed after it.

Every game maps to a chapter from the child's own board and class — NCERT chapter-wise for CBSE, CISCE syllabus strands for ICSE — and games unlock by class, so the catalogue a Class 3 child sees is their curriculum, not a Class 9 sibling's. Results feed a topic-by-topic mastery view that parents and teachers can read, which also powers the school's NEP 2020 Holistic Progress Card.

A safe AI tutor for children — safe by construction

Every parent evaluating an AI tutor for CBSE or ICSE students has the same two worries: will it wander off into the open internet, and will it just do the homework? Ask Kavach was designed so both answers are provably no.

It is syllabus-gated: the AI answers only from your child's own board and class curriculum, loaded chapter by chapter. Ask about a topic from a later class and it declines, names the class the topic belongs to, and offers something from your child's own year instead. Ask about anything that isn't school content and it refuses. And every real answer ends with a syllabus trace — the exact subject and chapter it taught from — so a teacher can audit what the AI is teaching.

A "Hints only" mode turns it Socratic: instead of answers, the child gets one step at a time and is asked to try before the next hint arrives. Even outside that mode, "just give me the answer" earns a hint, never a finished solution.

Current for the NEP 2020 syllabus — including what was removed

NCERT is mid-way through replacing every textbook under NEP 2020: Classes 1-8 now use entirely new books — Ganita Prakash for Maths, Curiosity for Science, Exploring Society: India and Beyond for Social Science — and Classes 9-12 were rationalised, with several chapters deleted from evaluation. Most learning apps still teach the old books.

VidyaKavach's syllabus is the current one, both boards, with the deleted chapters excluded on purpose: if a child asks about a rationalised-out chapter, the honest answer is "that's not in your syllabus this year" — and that's exactly what they get. ICSE is handled on its own terms too, with separate Physics, Chemistry and Biology from Class 6, the way CISCE actually structures it.

Common questions from parents

Is the AI tutor safe for children?

Yes, by construction rather than by promise. Ask Kavach is syllabus-gated: it answers only from your child's own board and class curriculum. Ask it about a Class 10 topic as a Class 5 student and it declines and says which year the topic belongs to. Ask it anything outside school subjects and it refuses. Every answer carries a syllabus trace — the exact chapter it taught from — that a parent or teacher can check.

Which boards and classes are covered?

CBSE and ICSE, Classes 1 to 12, including the new NEP 2020 NCERT textbooks (Ganita Prakash, Curiosity, Exploring Society, Poorvi, Malhar) and the rationalised chapter lists — deleted chapters are excluded so your child is never taught material that is no longer examinable.

Are the games actually based on the syllabus, or just general knowledge?

Chapter-level syllabus games: each game maps to a real topic from your child's board and class — fractions, linear equations, life processes, grammar — and results feed a mastery view a teacher can read topic by topic. Games unlock by class, so a Class 5 child sees Class 5 content.

Will the AI do my child's homework for them?

No. A "Hints only" mode walks the child through problems step by step, and even in normal mode a request to "just give me the answer" gets a Socratic hint instead of a final answer. Schools reject tools that do homework; this one was built to survive a school's review.
